ATAA offers shared accounting services for tribes on a regular or as-needed basis with monthly, flat-rate options. Our team is led by a 30-year tribal accounting executive and internal auditor who has provided shared accounting services for over 50 tribes and non-profits around the state. ​Service Benefits

Utilizing ATAA's Shared Accounting Services allows you to focus on the delivery of services, support for your members, and growth and sustainability. When you use our low-cost shared services, you bring efficiencies to your programmatic and administrative budgets, allowing more funding to be utilized in the delivery of services and support to your tribal members. 


Audit Preparation. Effective audit preparation helps lower overall audit costs and supports a favorable audit report. We provide the working documents requested by your auditor and work directly with the audit team to ensure past corrective action has been implemented and findings are not carried forward.


Budget DevelopmentGeneral, administrative and programmatic budgets require an understanding of allowable costs. We assist in the development of realistic budgets that meet your funding requirements.

Compliance + Corrective Action Plans. Our internal reviews support program and administrative compliance and we provide and support the implementation of corrective action plans. We also provide tribal councils with financial and programmatic reviews as needed.


Full-Cycle Accounting + Reporting. We provide data entry and analysis, transaction posting, trial ledger and adjustments, financial statements, and closing of all accounts with a final revision of the trial balance after closing. 


Grant Reporting + ManagementOur grants staff supports proper grant reporting and management and are familiar with many local, state and federal entities including the State of Alaska, Rasmuson Foundation, Alaska Community Foundation, BIA, EPA, HUD, IHS and others.

Indirect Rate Negotiations. We work directly with the Interior Business Center to negotiate your indirect rate.  

Payroll Services + Check Processing. Scheduled, timely payroll (printed and electronic), quarterly reporting and payments and regularly scheduled and as-needed check processing is available when you need it. 

ReportingOur team provides programmatic, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for funding agencies, annual meetings and council, and will attend your council or annual meeting as requested.
